HarperCollins Brings Literature to the iPhone

Even though a Japanese publisher is already planning to bring literature – albeit in graphic art form – to the iPhone in the US, that hasn’t stopped mainstream publisher HarperCollins attempting to convince people there that reading books on phones is a good idea.

First step on that uphill journey is the launch of a pilot website that allows users of the iPhone to read up to 10 pages from the first few chapters of a book. Technology provided by LibreDigital allows them to adjust the print size, scroll through pages like normal iPhone documents and turn pages just like in real novels.

Samsung has brought two of its slimmest handsets on the market, with the help of Verizon and Helio. The U700 and A513 phone models are two highly slender mobile phones, but also manage to pack some impressive performances.

Samsung SCH-U700 will see a release in a gold plated form, although it will probably be nothing more than a mere substitute for making the phone look somewhat more fashionable. The gray glossy surface combines with the metal look and surely adds some great points to this phone’s design.

Ericsson New WCDMA/HSPA Network Supplier for Elisa in Finland

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has been chosen by Finnish operator Elisa to deliver WCDMA/HSPA network equipment, taking the longstanding relationship between the two companies to a new level. The expansion will virtually double the coverage and capacity of Elisa’s existing WCDMA/HSPA network.

By the end of the year, more than 120 towns and cities will have 3G coverage, strengthening Elisa’s position as a leading Finnish 3G/HSPA network operator and service provider.
