Motorola W212, W371 and W510 Launched

Three new Motorola mobile phone models have just been launched. They are W212, W371 and W510 models. The new three phones look just like many other Motorola handsets seen up to this point.

The W212 model has a classic candybar form, with a navigation wheel that is specific to this producer. Motorola has put only low end performances in this device, as it comes equipped with a 1.5 inch screen capable of a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels, an extremely low one. Still, the handset might prove to be quite comfortable to handle, as it has only 14.6 mm in thickness and 75 grams. A more middle-end feature on this device is the FM radio that it also packs for offering the user some entertainment.

Samsung SGH-F700 to be Available in Europe on November

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading mobile phone and telecommunication equipment provider announced the SGH-F700, an elegant phone for the European market with Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile community. Industry-wide Collaboration Supports Next-generation Removable Flash Memory Card

Micron Technology, Inc., Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Sony Ericsson, Spansion Inc., STMicroelectronics, and Texas Instruments announced today that they support the creation of a far-ranging industry specification for removable memory cards and embedded memory solutions being standardized by the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association (JEDEC), a leading open-standards organization in the semiconductor industry. JEDEC is well known for its expertise in the standardization of component technologies and solutions.

The new specification, dubbed Universal Flash Storage (UFS), reflects the industry’s need for a universal memory solution that removes the need for adaptors to accommodate different removable memory card sizes.

Ericsson Release the First HSPA platform to Mass-market Multimedia

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced its U335 WCDMA mobile platform, the first to enable the introduction of mass-market HSPA multimedia devices capable of new services such as mobile TV, mobile video blogging and other services demanding both high uplink and downlink data speeds.

The Ericsson U335 combines high-speed uplink data with state-of-the-art multimedia functionality at a price level that makes true mass-market consumer devices possible. It differs from Ericsson’s previously announced HSPA platforms, which have focused primarily on network access for PC-card products and high-end feature phones, making the U335 the first platform enabling HSPA devices for all segments on the market.

LG Telecom to Launch EV-DO Rev.A Handsets in Korea

LG Telecom rolls out two new handsets which support ‘CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Rev.A’ including high-speed multimedia service.

The ‘EV-DO Rev.A(model: LG-LH2000)’ from LG features swing style 2.2-inch LCD, and supports video calling and T-DMB at price of mid-500,000(KRW). Samsung’s ‘EV-DO Rev.A(model: SPH-W3150)’ also employed 2.2-inch LCD and adopted T-DMB, video call and mp3 player controlled by voice recognition. Its suggested price is early 600,000(KRW).
