Sprint has just announced that they will be offering the new Palm Centro smart phone for $99.99 (after a $100 mail-in rebate), starting on Oct 14th. The Centro runs Palm OS, and has an EVDO data connection.

The Linux-based pseudo laptop was facing criticism from all angles and eventually the company couldn’t justify its release.
